One of several videos made for the 2017 HIGHNESS performance and video series, Kolonie is an experimentation with the immobilising effects and machinations of the production of iconic images. Working with two bee-keepers and their bees Kolonie seeks to critically render visible the fact that a queen’s image is often only fierce through the work of many hands. And that a desire to rule can rot very quickly.
